This is the current bee mortality rate. In 1990, it was only 5%.
The causes include climate change, predators, and diseases that weaken colonies.
Existing solutions have proven to be ineffective.
Magnetotherapy uses magnets for therapeutic purposes in humans. It is used to treat a wide range of health issues (chronic pain, inflammation, migraines, insomnia, wound healing disorders, etc.).
Observing the promising results of magnetotherapy, successful tests were conducted on bees by placing large magnets on the sides of hives.
The environment is filled with numerous magnetic and electromagnetic fields that exceed the Earth’s natural magnetic field. This disturbs bee colonies, which are sensitive to magnetism due to the ferrite in their abdomens. By adding magnets to hives, a permanent protective magnetic field is created, shielding them from external fields.
The new Rebeez frames provide a homogeneous magnetic field with the right intensity, properly oriented across the frames, and perfectly integrated into the hive.
Experiments began in 2010 on 1,000 hives, supervised by Jacques Kemp, President of the Interdepartmental Beekeepers’ Union of the Paris Region (SIARP), using 3,000 magnets.
The results are highly encouraging in terms of bee saving and productivity. Several factors may explain this:
The magnetic frame technology is unique and patented (FR3133519). It integrates magnetized strontium ferrite, a natural, noble, and stable material. This permanent magnetization produces a magnetic field of 0.5 to 2.5 mT, which is 10 to 50 times stronger than Earth’s natural magnetic field.
The material is combined with a honeycomb binder (food-grade polypropylene) about 1 cm thick to optimize magnetic radiation.
The honeycomb rays are pre-stretched by 4 mm, allowing bees to save time and energy, enabling them to focus on honey production more quickly.
This innovative technology has been certified by INNOV’R under the “Eco-Innovation” technical committee in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Since March 2023, magnetic frame experiments have been ongoing in ITSAP’s experimental hives. The colonies have responded well, showing good growth and acceptance. Organoleptic blind taste tests revealed that honey produced with magnetic frames has better flavor quality than honey from traditional frames.
Rebeez integrates two ancient traditions: beekeeping and magnetism.
For our future and the preservation of biodiversity, protecting and revitalizing bees through magnetism has become a natural and highly promising innovation.
A Brief History of Honey & Beekeeping
The history of honey dates back to the Neolithic period.
Throughout history, honey has been used for healing, skincare, and nutrition.
In Ancient Egypt, propolis was recognized for its health benefits. Celts and other ancient civilizations consumed mead, the world’s oldest fermented drink.
Beekeeping has evolved over the centuries, yet bee populations have dropped 60% in Europe since 1960.
Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) has affected Europe since 1998, with annual mortality rates reaching 30–40%, raising fears of a global ecological crisis.
A Brief History of Magnetism & Medicine
Since Ancient Egypt, India, China, and Greece, magnetism has been used for pain relief. Notable historical figures in magnetotherapy: Paracelsus, Kircher (15th century), Mesmer (18th century), Charcot & Pasteur (19th century). Magnetotherapy is now part of modern medical treatments, including hospital care in Japan. NASA equips spacecraft with magnetic field generators to protect astronauts’ immune systems and bone density.
